The tasks in traffic simulation are so wide-spread that it is
necessary to work with different kinds of models. Here at the ZAIK we
have three microscopic models to meet the different macroscopic
questions as closely as possible.
In the beginning of our
developement there was
- The CA-Model. It is very fast model based
on a cellular automaton.
- The SK-Model is a refinement of the
CA-Model. We implemented extended driver properties like smooth
braking. These two models are used in our software PLANSIM-T.
- The Queueing-Model is specialized
for the iterative calculation of dynamic user equilibria. The FASTLANE
program is based on this model.
- A new approach within queueing theory aims to combine the high computational efficiency of queueing approaches with the ability of mikroscopic car-following models in order to simulate the dynamics of traffic streams on a detailed level. You can find literature about this new approach at our
preprint server.
